Olwen is now sold
Olwen is a lovely cow from Brecon. A very kind customer of mine sent me a gorgeous photo of her and I couldn’t wait to paint her. I love her knowing eyes and the way her bright face contrasts with the dark behind her.
She was named in a Facebook competition that I ran. I loved the name Olwen and thought it was very fitting for a Welsh cow! The meaning of the name Olwen is “white footprint”. According to legend, she was so gentle and fragile that white lilies would grow in her footprints.
The canvas is 80cm x 60cm. It is painted using acrylic on canvas.
